Pada hari ini, acara penghargaan game tahunan terbesar dunia The Game Awards telah memasuki tahun keduanya. Acara yang awalnya dimulai pada 5 Desember 2014 lalu di Las Vegas, Nevada ini tidak hanya menghadirkan acara penghargaan saja, namun juga jadi ajang promosi dan sneak peek baru dari game-game yang akan muncul tahun depan.
The Game Awards 2015 yang digelar di Los Angeles, California kali ini bekerjasama dengan beberapa network seperti YouTube, IGN, Twitch, dan Steam. The Game Awards memiliki beberapa kategori penghargaan seperti Best Independent Game, Best Mobile/Handheld Game, Best Narrative, hingga kategori yang sangat ditunggu-tunggu yaitu Game of The Year dan Developer of The Year.
Sepertinya dominasi game RPG memang tidak dapat tergoyahkan, tahun lalu Dragon Age Inquisition berhasil menyabet gelar Game of The Year 2014. Tahun ini, lagi-lagi salah satu game RPG terbaik The Witcher 3: Wildhunt berhasil menyabet gelar Game of The Year 2015. Tidak hanya gelar Game of The Year 2015 saja yang berhasil disabet oleh The Witcher 3: Wildhunt, namun juga berhasil menyabet gelar Best Role Playing Game 2015. Developer The Witcher 3: Wildhunt, CD PROJEKT RED juga berhasil menyabet gelar Developer of The Year 2015. Saya pribadi merasa mereka memang sangat pantas untuk mendapatkannya karena game yang mereka buat benar-benar dikerjakan secara serius dan berbeda dari yang lain, mereka juga memperhatikan beberapa aspek kecil dari gamenya seperti side-quest yang tidak dikerjakan secara setengah-setengah.
